The Paragon String Quartet

The Paragon String Quartet formed from musicians who toured Europe in the late 1980’s. The groups musicians have played for The ACO, Melbourne and Sydney Symphony Orchestras and played with many performers including Elton John on his concert tour of Australia. Needless to say the group has played for many illustrious persons including Queen Elizabeth herself.

Los Chanelas

Chanela is gypsy slang for ‘celebration’, an appropriate description of this exciting group’s
music – a combination of flamenco, Spanish rumba and Salsa rhythms. The group originally
formed in Buenos Aires by Argentinean guitarist Miguel Ovejero. Miguel’s arrival in Australia
in 1998 saw him put together an eclectic and culturally diverse group of professional
musicians to create the current Los Chanelas line-up. The band’s sound has evolved to
capture the spontaneity and passion of the Spanish and Latin groove, with a contemporary
Australian feel.

Alan Bowles & Christina DeRoche

Guitarist/Vocalist Alan Bowles and Singer/Songwriter Christina DeRoche pays tribute to ‘Johnny Cash & June Carter’. Highly entertaining and authentic to the letter Alan has performed and recorded with many national and international recording artists. Christina sang in several bands on the west coast of the USA before settling in Australia. Her distinctive vocals, whether it be lead or backing are what she’s recognised for. Both Alan and Christina have been performing this style of music for 25 years.
