Robyn Arya and Alan Kohn understand the emotional and financial restraints faced by many families whilst struggling to support their child with high support needs at home. Their young son Dean had complex physical needs, and thousands of dollars were spent to purchase special equipment for him. They understand the pressure confronted by families as they seek to purchase essential aids and equipment to improve their child's quality of life.

In loving memory of Dean, who passed away in 2002 aged three and a half, Robyn, Alan & Josh have established a Foundation which is administered on their behalf by MOIRA. The MOIRA Dean Arya-Kohn Foundation seeks to directly help 'top-up' urgently needed funds for the special needs equipment which is required to enhance the quality of life of children with high support needs.

The foundation has spread Victoria wide and applications for children with special needs residing in Victoria Australia can be made by their case manager or therapist. Preference will be given to financially disadvantaged families.

The Mission of the Foundation is to ensure that all children with special needs have the appropriate aids and equipment required to support their health and wellbeing, growth and learning.

MOIRA is endorsed by the Australian Tax Office as a Deductible Gift Recipient. All donations to the MOIRA Dean Ayra-Kohn Foundation are fully tax deductible. Donations can be made via the Donations page. Please note that this website is not an official MOIRA website and that the MOIRA logo is used with permission given their commitment to the cause.
